6 months ago I promised myself I would post once a week. somehow, this past month, I did not - due to personal issues that seemed to take over my whole brain. but it got me thinking.
you get to be inspired either when you’re in a good headspace or when you’re angry and need to pour out words on a piece of paper. but what happens when you’re sad? it’s like everything is foggy and sadness doesn’t hand you words anymore. you can’t see thoughts clearly enough to find that inspiration.
anyhow, I did something. I’ve gone to Greece for a short period of time, more specific, to a cycladic island called Sifnos. it has helped me a lot, the island was partially empty because I’ve been there at the end of the season and the vibes were vibing.
it was the first time in my life when i let my brain go on airplane mode. i stopped thinking about work, family, traumas and drama. it was just me, the beach, good food and sleep. i decompressed so much and i realized that when you grow up you stop needing so much activity and noise to feel alive. you start craving peace and stillness instead.
yes, I don’t think i have a lot to say these days and it saddens me but somehow i think that’s fine. for years i would have forced myself to post out of guilt but this is not the kind of project i want for myself anymore.
i hope i will be back soon with more exciting things to share when i have more to say, but for now i will leave you with some pictures from my trip.
*empty beach and waves calming my nervous system*
*cat just woke up*
*acai bowl on the beach*
*sudoku by the pool*
*feeling artsy*
*late night guest at the hotel*
*the most beautiful church i’ve been to*
*the island is well known for ceramics*
*fresh fish and fries everyday*
*contemplating life*
*a fisherman’s town*
thank you for reading, i hope you had a great summer.
Love,
A.

Sometimes stepping away from everything isn’t giving up it’s giving your mind the space it needs to breathe.
I’m glad you found a little peace in the stillness; take your time finding your way back.
